Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so here’s an idea: invite friends to your home to celebrate and surprise them with this special Valentine dinner.
Do your “research” at Cooking for Charity’s February 8th class and we’ll have you so well prepared, it’ll be easy!
Or even simpler, just bring your friend or lover to the class, watch, learn, eat, and call it good!
An added attraction: a chance to win the door prize — a bottle of the first release from UCC’s Southern Oregon Wine Institute!
Chris Van Dyke, Director of Culinary Arts at Umpqua Community College, has devised an menu that’s sophisticated and elegant, yet quite doable in your home kitchen.
Winter white salad (fennel, radishes, and leeks) tossed in orange vinaigrette.
Seared beef filet with Mushroom Crespelles (savory stuffed crepes)
Delicata squash sauteed with Chard and finished with a blue cheese cream sauce
Chocolate panna cotta with cherries
We’ll be pouring Delfino Vineyards’ 2009 Zinfandel Rosé and 2007 Syrah.
