Summer in the Umpqua

With summer coming on — in fits and starts, to be sure — Ed’s started thinking about firing up the grill, the girls were fixin’ to make their favorite
sides, and Dorothy’s perfected a killer dessert for using local berries.

As you may have surmised, the Cooking for Charity Committee is took
charge of the June class, the last one before summer hiatus. We’re called
this one “Summer in the Umpqua” — a meal that celebrates the bounty of Southern Oregon.

The fellas, especially, enjoyed Ed’s detailed instructions for smoked pork shoulder, a lengthy but not overly complicated process.
